The Dreaded “Enter” Button

I don’t typically whine about things because quite honestly they’re not worth it, but today… today I’m going to do a bit of whining or more so warning.

Today I am here to tell you that the ENTER button isn’t always your friend.

So today, after fans and friends alike have reiterated how much I need an agent for my books I decided I would jump on in. For those of you that aren’t writers, I will let you in on a little secret. Query letters and Hook sentences can be a wee bit overwhelming. How anyone can take an entire book (that has a rich story line) and compress it into a one sentence description is beyond me. My conclusion is that there are a lot of one-dimensional books out there, or I’m a wiener. lol

I’ll go with number one for now.

So, here I was pouring my little heart into finding an agent worth querying when I decided I would send at least one out today. (It’s a scary world of agents out there, friends! They might be choosy about who they pick, but this here gal is choosy about who she picks too. Call me odd, but I want to like the person representing me.)

I won’t bore you with the details of my journey. I will tell you that before I was ready to send my query and the first five pages of Ice Moon, I accidentally hit “ENTER” and off it went into the internet abyss without my permission.

And that is my tale for the day. Beware of the Enter button for it has a multiple personality disorder and apparently thinks of itself as Send unless you tell it otherwise.

Note Taken.
