Once upon a time there lived a woman.
Her name was Mary and she is my hero.
Because of her humble yes, the Savior of the world was born.
And in only a few short weeks we will be celebrating His birthday.
Our Advent Wreath sits beautifully on our dining room table where we come together as a family to eat and laugh, enjoying food and fellowship.
We also come together and pray before we eat.
Tinsel McBiggles is back and the Christmas tree is decorated.
Today I thought I would share with you just a peak into our home this Christmas season.
Although I love Christmas I am no fan of the time change and how it gets dark early. Our Himalayan Sea Salt lamps are a huge blessing all year long. This time of the year they are even more so. They offer a soft, peaceful glow while purifying the air and emitting negative ions. We all love them. You’ll also notice my Young Living diffuser. This year I’ve been running Clove Essential Oil. It’s cheap and boosts the immune system.
And it smells great!
And then there’s our tree. The tree we’ve had since our oldest was a baby.
Each and every ornament is special in some way. Some were gifts and some are made by our family.
My husband and I painted the next two Nutcrackers.
The next ornament is the first one my husband ever bought me. He bought it before we were married many years ago. To the bottom right is an ornament I got from my Elementary School. The bear you see is an ornament from my childhood Christmas tree. It was my parents. My mom gave it to me.
The next two ornaments in the next two pictures are very special to me.
They remind me of my deceased parents.
I bought a few of these hearts the day of my mothers funeral. I thought they were simple, yet beautiful.
Every time I see them I think of her.
The next ornament is self explanatory. I have had it for a very long time.
It’s my father. It’s because of him that I know Jesus.
I am so proud to be his daughter and I miss him more than words.
The next and last picture is of a new friend that’s been with us since July, the Arc Angel Gabriel.
I think he’s pretty awesome!
No presents are wrapped yet but I’m just about done with shopping. I just need to make the time to wrap. I can’t wait! These weeks proceeding Christmas mean a lot to me. It’s a time to reflect and think about Our Lord’s Second Coming and it’s also a time to reflect on how a simple, humble woman’s yes changed the world.
Makes me wonder what our yes could do.
Until next time…
