Caleb= Faithful in Hebrew
Jonathan= Yahweh has given
Our first sons name is, Joshua David.
In the Bible Caleb was Joshua’s best friend and the only other original adult to enter the promised land. Jonathan was David’s best friend and was always looking out for him. It is our prayer that our sons are not only brothers, but also the best of friends.
Born only 10 months and 21 days after his big brother, Joshua, little Caleb has already had us wondering how we ever lived without him. It amazes me how that happens.
As for what his big brother thinks about him… he loved him while I was pregnant.
And he loves him now.
I can’t wait to watch them grow up together.
Joshua just adores him.
We all do.
None of us thought we’d ever have one boy in our family, much less two. We’re all in awe. Our eldest (pictured below) prayed specifically for this little guy. She even knew the exact day he would be born. As crazy as it sounds she wrote it on our family calendar at least 5 days before he was born! For real… I laughed it off until the 12th came and I was admitted into the hospital to have the baby. My daughter was right!
As for my labor & delivery… it was hard, really hard. That’s another story for another time. For now, more pictures.
The day we were going home I was missing my other kiddos and was so ready to hold and hug them.
But before we left we needed to do his first photo shoot. He looks just like Joshua, that is until you take his hat off!
Joshua has light hair and Caleb has dark hair.
Getting ready to go home.
Once we were home everyone wanted to hold him.
He is just so sweet… and so tiny.
Caleb weighed 6lbs 4.8 oz at birth and 5lbs 12 oz once home. Today as I write this he’s 6 days old and up to 6lbs 2 oz. Still not back up to his birth weight but close. He’s still just such a little guy.
I typically leave y’all with a picture of Joshua but today it’s all about baby Caleb.
Praise God for the newest little boy who stole my heart.
Isn’t he precious…
To be continued with my labor & delivery story…
